Malaysia Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the Movement Control Order (MCO) is extended for another two weeks until 12th May 2020. All non-essential services, businesses, activities and workplaces are closed, people are asked to stay at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Most of the wedding couples are forced to postpone their wedding and put aside the wedding plan. Some delay the wedding event to the end of the year, and others put off until next year.
On the other hand, postponing the wedding date brings longer waiting time for the groom and bride-to-be. To compliance with the MCO to stay at home, we list down the 7 things every bride-to-be can do during MCO:
- Keep Your Skin Healthy
- Keep Your Body Fit
- Get Enough Sleep
- Research Wedding Backup Plan
- Spend Quality Time With Your Family
- Relax & Breath
Keep Your Skin Healthy
While staying at home during MCO period, it keeps you staying away from the sunlight. Sun’s UV light can damage the fibers in the skin. Furthermore, exposure to the sun causes most of the wrinkles and age spots on our faces. Hence, it is the best time for you to let the skin relax and stay away from sunlighting.
In the meantime, you are advised to keep the skin clean and moisturized. Take shower or bath in less than 10 mins, and moisturize your skin immediately after washing. Avoid excessive washing, as it can strip away the oily layer of the skin and dry it out.
Eat fruits or vegetables that have high vitamin C, for example lemons, strawberries, tomatoes, broccolis, spinach and etc. Vitamin C helps avoid the signs of aging, heal damaged skin and, in some cases, reduces the wrinkles as well.
Keep Your Body Fit
Even though you have at least 6 to 12 months to go to your wedding, it doesn’t mean that you can stop to keep fit. I believe every groom or bride-to-be expects to see themself look gorgeous and attractive on their big day. So, you shouldn’t stop to keep your body fit and healthy.
Eating healthy is the elementary principle to keep your body look good and strong. Try to eat healthy food based on your diet, for example consume more vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, eggs etc. Try your best to keep sugar based products away, as the consumed sugar too often can contribute to weight gain.
Do some exercise if you wish your body looks healthy and fit. While you can’t go to gyms and fitness studios due to the COVID-19. But you can use bodyweight exercises to work nearly every muscle in your body at home, for example squats, push up and plank etc.
Get Enough Sleep
According to Dr. Jim Horne, Britain’s leading expert in sleep science. He explained that on average women need more sleep than men. Therefore, the wedding bride-to-be can utilize the MCO period and try to get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep.
In fact, people with shorter sleep duration tend to increase body weight more than those who get enough sleep. Whereas good sleep improves your immune function, which can mean good skin health.
So, please don’t burn the midnight oil just to watch korean dramas or movies, if you want to get rid of dark circles. It simply doesn’t bring any benefits to make your dream wedding come true, but hurts your skin and body. Turn off your laptop and put your mobile phone away, start from tonight try to go to sleep earlier.
Drink Plenty Of Water
Drinking enough water is the number one rule to keep your skin hydrated. Likewise, water keeps your skin looking healthy. And skin is our body’s largest organ, when we drink plenty of water, our skin will keep healthy and hydrated.
No matter where you are, you need to constantly drink water. Don’t wait until you feel thirsty then drink water, it means your body is sending a warning message to you that it needs water. In the other word, your body and skin starts to feel dry and not comfortable.
Your body weight is made up of 60% water, every system in your body needs water to function. Women are recommended to get around 9 cups from beverages. Thus, drinking enough water is every bride-to-be’s best investment to looking great on your special day.
Research Wedding Backup Plan
As the result of the extension of MCO, you are forced to reschedule the wedding date and the whole plan. It not only affected the date, but all the program, task, budget, as well as the wedding guest list. I know how frustrated it is, but remember it is for the most special day in your life. I believe you are still dreaming of how wonderful the wedding is, so don’t give up. Try to utilize the MCO period to prepare a backup plan for your wedding.
You probably need to change a new vendor as the wedding is rescheduled. Thus, take the time to do some research online, whether you can find a new vendor to join your wedding collaboration team.
